A long time ago there was a city called July which was destroyed by a remarkable gunman named "Vash the Stampede". Amazingly, no-one was injured during this battle but a $$60,000,000,000 reward was put above his head. Later on an insurance agency sets out to follow Vash to stop him from getting in to trouble because he is costing them so much. Despite the terrible rumours about Vash he is surprsingly goofy and it makes you wonder how he survived so many battles! Vash seeks out a bad guy named knives to kill him for all the terrible things he has done but it won't be easy!

Characters:

Vash the Stampede
A gunman wandering the desert, Vash has made something of a name for himself. The "Stampede" nick comes from the mass destruction that seems to follow him whereever he goes. Whole towns and cities have been destroyed with Vash being named as the culprit, and because of this he has a $$60 billion reward on his head (Dead or Alive). However, the viewer finds out almost instantly that the damage done is usually the fault of bounty hunters, bandits, or other people seeking Vash out for the reward, or some reason or another. Vash carries a large silver gun, has a cybernetic left arm, and also has his signature bright red trenchcoat and yellow sunglasses; on the outside he appears to be an easygoing, friendly guy who can't drink without puking and tends to be a little perverted when it comes to girls. However, upon observing him in a gunfight or some other scuffle, Vash is noted for his agility and shooting skills. He almost never catches a bullet (even at close range), can knock bullets off-target with a small rock thrown from 30 or so yards, and manages stunts most humans are incapable of pulling off. Though he seems happy and lighthearted on the outside, Vash hides quite a bit of anger, frustration and sorrow, and rarely allows it to show. He daydreams of a dark-haired girl named Lem, and is uneasy over killing others (if he is forced to protect himself or others, he tries only to wound). Vash is on a personal quest, though what this entails has yet to be revealed. Vash has no family to speak of, but allies himself with Wolfwood, and Bernadelli Insurance girls Meryl Stryfe and Milly Thompson.

Nicholas D. Wolfwood
While riding to May City on a bus across the desert, Vash spots a very dehydrated Wolfwood in the sand. Wolfwood is a priest travelling in the name of an orphanage/church near December City. He carries a large cross wrapped in cloth, but it's revealed to be a rather elaborate, portable arsenal. Wolf wears a black suit and sunglasses, smokes, and speaks badly-accented Kansai japanese. He has a kindness for children and others in trouble(though one doubts his intentions when it's an attractive woman he's assisting). Aside from his cross, he carries a "portable confessional", which he offers in exchange for money or other favors. Though Wolfwood insists that he's a man of the church, he has shown remarkable skill in handling guns; his past is not known when he enters the series, but without a doubt there is more to Wolf than he would have us know. He allies himself with Vash and Meryl, and in particular develops a fondness for Milly.

Meryl Stryfe and Milly Thompson
Meryl and Milly are disaster investigators sent by their company, Bernadelli Insurance Company, to check out the scene of Vash's "Crimes". They've been ordered to keep an eye on Vash around the clock, to keep whatever could happen in check. This, of course, doesn't work out at all from the first couple of episodes on; although Meryl is not convinced until Episode 5 that the lunatic they're following even is Vash. Meryl Stryfe is the senior of the pair. She's very straight and by the book, and very intent on her job. She likes to think she's up to snuff in dealing with all kinds of people, often offering donuts and extra manners when approaching them. But she gets flustered when things don't go as planned, and spends a lot of time beating on poor Vash. She starts to soften around episode 12, and becomes one of Vash's best supporters. Milly Thompson is the youngest of 10 children, and acts it. She's Meryl's second-in-command, and has a very childlike, kind and patient personality. She often gives off the impression of being simpleminded, but we learn early on that she's sharper than most of the other characters. Milly, while being childlike, is absolutely dedicated to the ideals she learned from her family, those of justice and the all important "Do the Right Thing". She demonstrates the ability to make sacrifices on her part for the sake of others, with little to no hesitation (Wolfwood admires her greatly for this trait). Meryl is shorter in appearance, with short, dark hair, and dresses mostly in white; she arms herself with a mini-arsenal of hidden derringers. Milly is unusually tall with long, light brown hair and a teal and tan overcoat; she carries a humungous stungun that shoots X-shaped, metal projectiles.

Kuroneko-sama/Lord Black Cat
Kuronekosama is...Well. Usually referred to as 'It' instead of a he or she, Kuronekosama is a small, green-eyed black cat that has little if any bearing on the Trigun series, yet appears at least once in each anime episode. Its formal name is "Kuroneko Kuukan" or "Black Cat Space". Usually Kuro is there to add a laugh or two to what might otherwise be an overly-serious situation.

Weapons

AGL Arms .45 Long Colt
The AGL Arms .45 Long Colt (EF Auto Ejecting, Double Action) is Vash's weapon of choice. The reason for this probably has to do with it's extreme accuracy and power of the .45 long colt round. It's big, it's heavy, it's bad. Vash's gun is based on a normal revolver, most likely a colt python. The unique thing about this gun is the barrel, it's fires off the lower part of the cylinder (the barrel is underneath) Well, Vash sure likes it and he uses it well, so i guess there's no need for anything bigger. (or at least so far)

The Crucifix
This thing is huge, and heavy. It's heavy "Because it's so full of mercy" It's got 4 main parts, 2 of which i know about. 1, the long piece, is a machinegun. 2, One of the horizontal parts, stores about 8 .45 auto handguns. The other horizontal part is ammo for the machinegun. The vertical part is a rocket launcher or RPG of some kind.

Milly's Stun Gun
Milly Thompson's Weapon of choice. This thing is also huge. It's got 6 barrels in the early episodes and 8 a little later on. It fires large tubes that fold out into 4 parts, knocking targets down (and out) and clamping around them so they can't move. It works for quite a few things, like launching the Crucifix to Wolfwood and taking out robots.

Meryll's Derringers
Meryl doesn't like big guns, she likes small ones, lots of them. She carries probably around 40 of these derringer double shot pistols under her cape. I'm guessing they fire .45 auto rounds, either that or 9mm rounds.

Toy Gun
Kids use this toy gun to shoot each other, Vash uses it to demoralize bad guys. Another gun for Vash, because it's nice and non-lethal.

P.F. Marlin
These guns play an important part in one episode, otherwise they're just collectors guns. They fire .45 Long Colt rounds as most revolvers do.

Generic Rifle
This is the generic rifle used by some of the goons. It's based on the M1 Garand rifle from WWII. It's clip fed and semi automatic.

Grader Model 2043
This is the Trigun version of the Colt Commander. Clip fed, semi automatic, .45 auto. Wolfwood has a couple of these, and so do random badguys.

Trigun AK
This is the Trigun version of the AK assault rifle. I guess through the years the AK series assault rifles survived. These weapons are known for their rugged design, and reliability.

Mauser Handgun
This is the Trigun version of the Mauser handgun. Fires 9mm rounds. Used by gunfigters, goons and civilians.

The Belief Lightning
The Belief Lighting is the standard revolver for most of the goons in Trigun. Wolfwood uses it in one episode. The Belief Lightning fires .45 Long Colt rounds and holds 6. There are 2 variations on the Belief Lightning that show up in Trigun.

Pump Action Shotgun
This is the pump action shotgun that goons use in Trigun. Only really shows up in the first episode, but it does a good job of blowing apart a couch. It fires 12ga shotgun rounds.
